We meet at 7:30 am at the Staffal cable car ticket office, from where we take the lift up to Punta Indren (3260 m). From there, we begin our ascent on the magnificent Lys Glacier.

We head straight for the Vincent Pyramid, which at 4215 metres is one of the perfect peaks for those wishing to explore the great 4000-metre giants of Monte Rosa. The climb to the Cristo delle Vette (Balmenhorn) offers a short and exciting secured section. Once we reach the rocky base of the Balmenhorn, all that is left is to tackle the final stretch: a short rock face equipped with metal steps and a safety rope. Here, we are welcomed by the inspiring statue of the Cristo delle Vette, while just below lies the charming Bivacco Giordano. A brief but thrilling passage that adds a touch of adventure to the climb and offers a wonderful reward once you reach the summit.

The initial route is the same as the one taken to reach the Capanna Regina Margherita, making it also excellent training in preparation for that iconic climb. 

The duration of the ascent is between 3 and a half to 4 hours.
